Reasons to move to Rail
Rail provides up to a 76% carbon reduction (Source DfT) on an equivalent road journey per container moved, with immediate effect. Measuring efficiency another way, 1 Gallon of fuel will move your goods 246 miles by rail compared with only 88 miles by road. For example, if you move a container from FXT to Birmingham by rail, you’ll be saving 221kg of CO2 on one trip. That’s 1 metric ton saved every 5 containers moved: Helps the targets, huh?!
Rail is acknowledged to be around 20 times safer than travelling by road (Source RSSB), so using rail significantly improves the safety of your customers goods whilst reducing the risk to HGV drivers by cutting the distance and frequency of long-haul HGV movements.
Using Rail also provides reliability, with average rail freight industry reliability numbers around 93% of timetabled arrival times, the UK’s leading rail Freight Operating Company boasts 99% reliability since 2006. With UK roads becoming more and more congested, and road closures and delays becoming an increasing factor, rail provides a truly reliable alternative.

We started our company 6 months ago, because we saw lots of pointless waste in the logistics industry. We felt 'being the change you want to see' was the best way for us to achieve the objective of removing waste. We have started our journey towards becoming a B Corp, so when we 'come of age' we'll qualify.
