Case: Engine Delivery — Netherlands to China

Project Overview

We were tasked with delivering a critical aircraft engine from the Netherlands to China—on a strict deadline and under challenging conditions. Despite severe weather, documentation issues, and customs hurdles, the shipment was delivered successfully and on time.

The Challenge

This complex move required rapid problem-solving and close coordination across multiple countries. During preparation, our team identified and resolved several critical issues:

  • Incorrect cargo dimensions that required urgent correction
  • Missing Dangerous Goods declaration, which had to be completed accurately to avoid delays

In addition, the shipment faced storms, customs delays, and operational disruptions, increasing the pressure on timelines.

The Route

To ensure speed and reliability, a carefully planned multimodal route was executed:

  • MST → FRA – Road transport
  • FRA → HKG – Dedicated freighter aircraft
  • HKG → CAN – Road transport

Each leg was closely monitored to ensure seamless handovers and real-time visibility.

Overcoming Obstacles

Upon arrival, fumigation was immediately arranged to accelerate customs clearance and avoid further delays.

The final delivery took place during Hong Kong’s Black Storm requiring precise timing, experienced drivers, and constant communication to ensure safety and compliance.

Results

  • Engine delivered on time.
  • All regulatory and customs requirements met.
  • Customer and consignee fully satisfied.

“One engine. On time. One happy customer. One happy consignee.”
